Transportation Performance Measure 3: Travel Time Reliability Measures – Truck Level of Travel Time Reliability (TTTR) along the Interstate System:

Using data from the 2019 NPRDMS dataset the map to the left breaks shows the travel reliability for trucks in a regional context, showing the freight movement on the Interstate system for Delaware, Maryland. Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Truck Travel Reliability is measured at various time periods during the day and computes the median (50th percentile) travel speed vs. "freeflow" speed (95th percentile).

The time periods measured are as follows:

1. Morning peak (6-10 a.m.) on weekdays
2. Midday (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) on weekdays
3. Afternoon peak (4-8 p.m.) on weekdays
4. Weekends (6 a.m.-8 p.m.)
5. Overnights for all days (8 p.m.-6 a.m.).

2019 Interstate Truck Travel Time Reliability

The map below show the MAP-21 generated regional travel time reliability for trucks along the interstate system with data used the National performance measures. Reporting is divided into five periods: morning peak (6-10 a.m.), midday (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) and afternoon peak (4-8 p.m.) Mondays through Fridays; weekends (6 a.m.-8 p.m.); and overnights for all days (8 p.m.-6 a.m.).
